| Locating a quality place to
hunt has become increasingly difficult in recent years. Public hunting
can be so crowded it takes away from the whole outdoor experience
and dramatically reduces' hunters' safety. The Carter Pasture is a huntng
experience like no other place in this state. It has been known for many
generations as a prime location to not only hunt exceptional white tail,
wild hogs, squirrel, and ducks, but has Piney Creek that widdens into a wonderful
place to trot line or hand fish. There is also a duck pond
for you water fowl hunters. The pasture itself consists of over 8,000 acres located in north Polk and Tyler counties. There are two available camp sites for those of you that would like to bring in a travel trailer or tent. Even if you don't own your own trailer there is always a camp fire that will welcome you. This is a place for the entire family to enjoy. As you will see from the photo pages the younger generation is a big part of our friendly pasture. We are now in oue 3rd year of the "MLDP"
- Managed
Lands Deer Program .
This year we have seen a definite increase in the antler size of our bucks and the population of other wildlife. |
