Honor RollMcManus Creek Paint Horses breed, on a limited basis, world class individuals that excel in the show ring and then become a part of a breeding program that not only includes horses with show records, but also have impeccable pedigrees. In addition to possessing exceptional conformation and type, only ones that meet the following criteria enter my breeding program. Because I handle all the foals myself, good temperament is a must.
By this, I mean that I have to be comfortable and at ease being around them. I have found that ones with this type of breeding and attitude go through weaning and training far better than ones that are high strung or ill tempered. They adjust into there roles as show horses in a manner that makes showing enjoyable and not all work.The heart of my breeding program is my beautiful mares. They come from top producing bloodlines that are consistent in giving me the traits that I have selected as important. From the beginning, my breeding philosophy has been to breed to the very best stallions available, retaining the best daughters, which in turn are bred to the best. The stallions I choose for my mares are chosen on the basis of pedigree, conformation and sire record. The chosen stallions must compliment my mares in all aspects to give me the best chance for the quality I strive to produce. This is done with much thought. I want to be confident that the resulting foal is a result of generations of conscientious breeding - dedicated to produce over all excellence.
My objective is to breed winning show horses that are not just a good niche but have the strength in their blood that can not help but produce more great individuals.
